President Tinubu meets Vincent Bolloré in Paris
President Bola Tinubu on Friday met with Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group in Paris to discuss expanded investments in Nigeria’s creative and digital economy.
According to presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, the Bolloré Group confirmed plans to deepen the localisation of its operations in Nigeria, with proposed investments covering film, entertainment, fibre-optic infrastructure and related sectors.
Onanuga said Bolloré and his executives outlined new investment plans focused on Nigeria, highlighting the country’s growing influence in the global creative industry through Nollywood and Afrobeats.
During the meeting, President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s focus on economic development, job creation for young Nigerians and digitalisation.
The President welcomed the Group’s plans to expand its presence in Nigeria, saying the country’s growing global cultural influence presents opportunities to attract more production, investment and jobs.
Tinubu also said his administration would continue to support investments aimed at developing local talent, strengthening digital infrastructure and expanding Nigeria’s creative and digital economy.
The President said the Renewed Hope Agenda is focused on creating an economy where Nigeria’s talent, enterprise and global cultural reach can generate greater opportunities and improved livelihoods for Nigerians.
The meeting took place in Paris as Tinubu continues his working vacation.
