APC Puts Abia State Congresses on Hold

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the suspension of its planned ward, local government, and state congresses in Abia State.

In an official statement released on Wednesday and signed by the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the decision was attributed to ongoing internal consultations and the need to finalise certain administrative arrangements.

The party explained that pausing the congresses would allow it to complete necessary preparations to guarantee a smooth, transparent, and credible exercise in the state.

According to the statement, a new timetable for the congresses will be communicated in due course, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will be formally notified once a revised schedule is agreed upon.

The APC emphasised its commitment to ensuring due process and maintaining internal party order throughout the exercise.
