This follows the success of his fifth album, 5ive, whose hit collaboration with You featuring Omah Lay earned a Grammy nomination for Best African Music.
Award-winning Afrobeats superstar David “Davido” Adeleke has announced that his sixth studio album will drop in 2026, coinciding with his 33rd birthday.
The announcement came during an intimate post-concert gathering in Atlanta, where Davido celebrated with family, close friends, and key members of his 30BG team.
Speaking to guests, the singer expressed gratitude to God and his team for their unwavering support over the years.
“We thank God, and we are going to keep going. We are just starting; more to come in 2026. Thank you for tonight, everyone. Get home safe. Most importantly, keep me in your prayers. I am working on a new album; it is in the works. It is going to be a big year for us all,” Davido said.
Earlier this year, Davido released 5ive, his fifth studio album. The album, which blends Afropop, R&B, Amapiano, dancehall, and 3-Step, has been a commercial and critical success. Its lead collaboration With You with Omah Lay earned a nomination for Best African Music at the 68th Grammy Awards.
The 17-track 5ive project features several high-profile collaborations, including Chris Brown, Victoria Monét, Becky G, Shenseea, YG Marley, Musa Keys, Tayc, Dadju, Odumodublvck, Chike, Victony, and Omah Lay. The album also includes a heartfelt tribute to Davido’s late son.
5ive debuted at No. 1 on Spotify’s global chart, reached No. 37 on the Billboard 200, and peaked at No. 7 on the UK Albums Chart. The album was supported by the sold-out 5ive Alive World Tour, spanning North America, Europe, and key Nigerian cities.
Davido, who first rose to fame in 2012 with Dami Duro from his debut album Omo Baba Olowo, has consistently released successful projects, including A Good Time (2019), A Better Time (2020), and Timeless (2023).
He is also the founder of DMW Records, the label he launched in 2016, which has developed several top Nigerian music talents.
